Alex is from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. In the Blackwell lab, she uses cell-based transcriptional reporters and in vitro assays to probe the mechanisms of various Gram-positive quorum sensing modulators. She is also interested in investigating the molecular-level interactions of AgrC with the native AIP signals. Outside of lab, Alex enjoys painting, crocheting, reading, and line dancing!
