B.S. in Biochemistry – Beloit College
Kamila grew up in Medellín, Colombia, and the suburbs of Chicago. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from Beloit College, a liberal arts institution in Wisconsin. During her undergraduate studies, she completed a summer research internship at Drexel University with Professor Priscila Sato, investigating G-protein–coupled receptor kinases and their roles in cardiac physiology. She later interned at Caltech in Professor Frances Arnold’s laboratory, where she explored carbene and nitrene-transfer reactions. Outside of the lab Kamila likes to read, draw, and weightlift.
